Entries Open For Georgia Mid-Amateur Championship
MARIETTA, Ga. – Entries are now being accepted for the 25th annual Georgia Mid-Amateur Championship, which takes place May 19-21 at Cartersville Country Club. This event is open to male amateur golfers age 25 and older as of the first day of the event, who are GSGA members and Georgia residents.
The format of the event is 54 holes stroke play. The field will be cut to the low 70 and ties after 36 holes. Last year, Augusta’s Jefferson Murray fired rounds of 67 and 69 to capture the weather-shortened event by one stroke over Jeff Knox, also of Augusta.
Eighteen-hole qualifying rounds for the Georgia Mid-Amateur Championship begin April 2 and run through April 24 at six sites located throughout the state.
Qualified players may enter online at the GSGA website (www.gsga.org) by clicking the Online Registration quick link. Paper entries are available by request and may also be downloaded as a PDF file via the GSGA website. The deadline for entries is Wednesday, March 10 at 5:00 p.m.
The Entry period is also currently open for the Georgia Four-Ball Tournament (through March 1).
