FORT WORTH, Texas – United Sports Technologies®, golf’s leading innovator of high-performance golf shafts, announces its sponsorship of the 2006 Southern Texas PGA (STPGA) Points List and Match Play Championship on February 20-22 at The Club at Falcon Point in Katy, Texas. UST has been a proud sponsor of the STPGA over the past five years.

"We’re very excited about being the title sponsor at this upcoming tournament," says Gene Simpson, vice president of marketing for UST. "UST has always supported PGA professional events and it’s our participation in organizations, like the STPGA, that make working in the golf industry so enjoyable. UST is known for producing the best performing golf shafts in the market; it’s rewarding to have an opportunity for PGA professionals in Southern Texas Section to get to know our company and products better."

One of the world’s largest and most successful graphite golf shaft manufacturers, UST has shown a remarkable ability to develop innovative new products, which have won on every professional tour in the world. This year, UST has introduced a green-grass PGA Program, which allows PGA professionals to work even closer with the Texas-based manufacturer. This program provides technical support in helping find and fit golfers with the proper shaft; golfers can visit the interactive shaft fitting guide to determine what attributes in a shaft will help them improve their game. Professionals who are a part of the program will receive posters, stickers and POP brochures for display in their storefronts. PGA Professionals interested in participating should contact Jamie Pipes, PGA professional and manager of field research and product testing for UST, at 800-621-6728.

All Class "A" Members, Master Professionals, Life Members, Retired Members, and Class "B" Apprentices in good standing employed in the Southern Texas PGA are eligible for the tournament. Registration deadline is February 16, 2006. The Top 16 members of the 2005 UST Points List will be automatically qualified for seeding within the tournament, a stroke play qualifier will determine the final 16 players.
