Woods Joins Strong Field For Nissan Open Presented By Countrywide, Feb. 13-19, At Riviera Country Club

Daly, Els, Furyk, Dimarco, Montgomerie, Weir Among Entries

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. (Feb. 9, 2006) – Tiger Woods has joined the list of entries for the 80th playing of the Nissan Open presented by Countrywide, Feb. 13-19, at Riviera Country Club. The field includes 24 players who won on the 2005 PGA TOUR, 18 of the top 28 from the 2006 PGA TOUR money list, 21 of the top 30 from the 2005 money list, and 35 of the top 50 on the World Golf Rankings.

Woods, who has won his first two tournaments this year in playoffs, joins an international field that includes defending champion Adam Scott, Robert Allenby, Stuart Appleby, Rich Beem, Olin Browne, Bart Bryant, Angel Cabrera, Stewart Cink, Tim Clark, Ben Crane, John Daly, Chris DiMarco, Luke Donald, Ernie Els, Brad Faxon, Fred Funk, Jim Furyk, Lucas Glover, Jason Gore, J.B. Holmes, Charles Howell III, David Howell, Brandt Jobe, Tom Lehman, Justin Leonard, Len Mattiace, Billy Mayfair, Paul McGinley, Colin Montgomerie, Sean O’Hair, Jose Maria Olazabal, Corey Pavin, Kenny Perry, Nick Price, Ted Purdy, Justin Rose, Henrik Stenson, Kirk Triplett, Scott Verplank, Duffy Waldorf, Mike Weir and Lee Westwood. Allenby, Els, Mattiace, Mayfair, Pavin, Scott, Triplett and Weir are past Nissan Open champions. Appleby, Holmes and Woods have won tournaments on the 2006 PGA TOUR.

Total purse for the 2006 Nissan Open presented by Countrywide is $5.1 million, with $918,000 going to the winner. Scott won the 2005 title in a sudden-death playoff over Chad Campbell.

The Nissan Open presented by Countrywide is the third oldest event on the PGA TOUR and the oldest civic-sponsored event. It is managed by the LA Junior Chamber of Commerce. During the tournament’s 80-year history, more than $50 million has been raised to support the local charitable programs of the Junior Chamber of Commerce.
