(San Jose, CA) -Aserta Sports’ Eclipse and Monster putters earned the highest overall rating in recent independent tests conducted by GolfTest USA. The Eclipse and Monster, by Parente earned the highest rating of 8.4 among the 39 putters tested. Thirty golfers with handicaps of 0-12 and thirty golfers with above 12 handicaps tested each putter for distance, accuracy, appearance, feel and a final overall rating.
Both the Eclipse and the Monster received the highest rating for accuracy and feel. Aserta was the only manufacturer to have four models tested and receive GolfTest USA’s Seal of Excellence. The Aserta TRCB (True Roll Cavity Back) and the Aserta TRM (True Roll Mallet) models also received GolfTest USA’s Seal of Excellence award by garnering overall ratings of 8.1 by players in the 0-12 handicap range.
"These are individual tests", explained Wayne Williams, Testing Director for GolfTest USA. "We ask each participant to test each putter from 5, 10 and 15 feet and to not rate the club against another club but individually in terms of the criteria we feel is critical to golfers," Williams continued. Each category is rated on a scale of 1-10 with ten being the best.
"We were very pleased to see these results," said Mike Bonneau, Founder of Aserta Sports, Inc. "This further reinforces the feedback we have received from the public as well as our players on the LPGA and Nationwide Tours. We truly feel we produce the best rolling and best feeling putter available today. This only adds validation to the technology awards and accolades Aserta putters have received over the last two years," Bonneau added.
In 2003 Mike Bonneau introduced the golf industry to IVM® – Inverted Mass Technology which is fundamental to all Aserta putters. IVM® raises the center of gravity of the putter head. This breakthrough allows the ball to be struck with the majority of the putter head’s mass above the equator of the ball, producing immediate topspin and a true and accurate roll. Traditional putters, with a low center of gravity create backspin causing the ball to hop and skid before it starts rolling.
Another important technology advantage Aserta Sports brings to the feel and accuracy of its Monster Putter is patented LST – Laser Surface Technology. Laser Surface Technology uses a high-powered laser to create a well-defined nano-grooved surface texture on the face of a putter. These high density grooves on the putter’s surface help grip the ball as it is hit, enhancing the control of topspin and immediate forward roll while reducing skidding even further.
The laser nano-grooves also produce a unique feel due to the reduced contact area between the putter and the ball. The surface texture actually helps channel high frequency vibrations away from the impact zone. High frequency vibrations give the hollow, thin feel and sound that is characteristic to some putters on the market.
It’s no wonder that Golfweek recently proclaimed: "This may be the best feeling putter you’ll ever hit".
Located in San Jose, CA, Aserta Sports, Inc is the inventor and manufacturer of Inverted Mass Technology, the patented process which raises the putter’s center of gravity into the perfect position to automatically impart topspin instead of backspin, hopping or skidding caused by bottom heavy putters. With Aserta, the golf ball starts rolling accurately toward its target the instant it leaves the clubface.
