Feel Golf Co. Inc. reported record sales of grips, drivers and wedges at this years PGA International Merchandise Show in Orlando, Florida. Company CEO Lee Miller, PhD said; "We have been going to this show for many years, and while attendance has seen a significant dip in recent years, the interest in the Full Releaseâ?¢ grip has never been higher. It was gratifying to have players come to see us who had used the grip and report wonderful results."
One past PGA Major Tournament winner came to see Dr. Feel at demo day and ask for a set of the grips to be used for this coming season. Having read about the grips and then trying the grips at demo day, he immediately felt the improved release that is touted by Feel Golf. He also realized a better short game feel. Another LPGA Major winner asked Feel Golf for more grips. She said: "After trying a few grips earlier, I really feel my short game is much better with these grips and want to try on all my clubs." Another was a former world ranked number one wanting the grips, after trying another players Full Release grip and "the improved feel through the shot".
On the OEM front, two major club manufacturers opened talks to privately labeling the grip for their lines.
"It is simply amazing," said Miller, "after only a little more than a year on the market, we have reached tens of thousands of golfers, 22 foreign countries, all with the same testimonial results. Our customers are seeing greater hand speed, swing and ball speed, which all result in greater distance with increased control."
At the PGA 2006 International show, Feel introduced three new grips to their grip line. Two of which are 2 colors, (Black/Fire Engine Red and Black/Royal Blue) and a Designer all Tan. The grips are made of a soft proprietary tacky material, that resists slipping, gets tackier in inclement weather, feels very soft in the hands and gives greater feel and touch than traditional grips.
Every Major national account upped their orders for Feel Golf’s club line and The Full Releaseâ?¢ grip line for this coming year. Since grip demand exceeded supply most of last year, no one wanted to be caught short on inventory for the coming season. One European golf shop paid for half the expenses of a distributor to make the journey just so he could bring back a set of The Full Release new grips, with the "Taper Tip Technology"â?¢. "It was just great to see this kind of excitement around our product line," said Miller.
Andy Heffner, National Sales manager said that many accounts are adding the Feel Club line, wedges, drivers, irons as well as the grip line to their in store 2006 product.
