BOSTON – February 13, 2006 – Stewart Golf USA’s X1R remote caddie was really moving at the 2006 PGA Merchandise Show, and show attendees and media alike were moving towards it.
The remote caddie, which travels in all different directions — and even does a complete 360 degree spin – with the aid of a remote controlled device held by the user, was one of the most eye-catching and popular items at this year’s Show, which was held in late January at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando. SI.com, the Internet Web site for Sports Illustrated, named the X1R one of the Hot Products at the Show. The Golf Channel, which did several hours of live broadcasting during the Show’s first three days, also featured the X1R.
Those media outlets, as well as the many visitors and customers to the Stewart Golf Booth, were attracted to both the remote caddie’s sleek and stylish, powerful looks as well as its astounding ease of movement. It was similar to a combination of the power of the finest sports car, like a Jaguar or a BMW, combined with the grace and fluidity of a star ballet dancer.
"The X1R is unlike any remote caddie ever made," says Chip Anderson, President of Stewart Golf USA. "It handles any type of terrain, whether level or mountainous, with unparalleled efficiency to take the strain off any golfer looking for an enjoyable day of golf. And it’s strong physical characteristics and beauty emanates the simple fact that it is a first-class product for the discernable golfer."
As Anderson has said previously, "Our remote caddies turn a lot of heads."
Golfers are paying more and more attention to physical fitness and the X1R makes walking during a round easy and enjoyable. You don’t have to push or pull anything. Additionally, the X1R’s remote variety of speeds means lets golfers take a leisurely stroll or gain cardio benefits by keeping up with a quicker pace provided by the caddie.
A fully remote-controlled caddie with solid-state electronics, the X1R provides high reliability, cruise control, and a range exceeding 50 yards. Its compact handset allows golfers to move the X1R forward, backward, faster, slower, left and right. The ‘off’ button cuts the power to the X1R’s powerful twin motors and slows the caddie to a gradual stop. The emergency brake brings the X1R to an immediate stop.
Reliable microprocessor-driven electronics has 65,000 unique codes for each remote control, ensuring that no other handset will control your X1R. An integrated anti-tip wheel allows the remote caddie to negotiate hills with ease. High-grip tires reduce wheel spin and protect the course.
The X1R includes features designed for optimal convenience including handy storage for balls, tees, sunglasses, towels; a one-piece scorecard and pencil holder; and a gimbal-mounted drink holder that adjusts to accommodate cans and short and long bottles.
The PGA Merchandise Show isn’t the only place that the X1R has been gaining attentions. GQ Magazine’s British Edition, in its December 2005 issue, ranked the X1R 35th on its annual list of "The 100 best things in the world." The X1R ranked ahead of such products as the Odyssey 2-ball putter (39th) and the Range Rover Sport (72nd). Stewart Golf USA is the North America division of Stewart Golf Limited, a UK-based company.
In Stewart Golf USA’s product line, the X1R is complemented by the X1R SE (Special Edition). Stewart Golf can adorn a remote caddie in special colors and with imprints, logos and crests such as those of a golf club, sports car or anything within a customer’s imagination. Wheels can also be customized.
