Entries Open For Georgia Women’s Match Play Championship
MARIETTA, Ga. – Entries are now being accepted for the ninth annual Georgia Women’s Match Play Championship, which takes place April 12-14 at Sunset Hills Country Club in Carrollton. This event is open to female amateur golfers of all ages who are GSGA members and Georgia residents.
The format of the event is three days of match play, flighted and seeded by handicap index. Laura Coble of Augusta has dominated this event in recent years, winning the past five and six of the last seven Women’s Match Play Championships. Last year, Coble defeated Alina Lee of Athens, now a member of the University of Georgia women’s golf team, with a birdie on the 18th hole.
Qualified players may enter online at the GSGA website (www.gsga.org) by clicking the Online Registration quick link. Paper entries are available by request and may also be downloaded as a PDF file via the GSGA website. The deadline for entries is Wednesday, March 22 at 5:00 p.m.
Entry periods are also currently open for the Georgia Four-Ball Tournament (through March 1) and the Georgia Mid-Amateur Championship (through March 15).
