Tee Off Event for Executive Women’s Golf Association
SEATTLE, Wash. (Feb. 11, 2006) – Steven Mary, a professional coach and internationally known trainer of athletes and CEOs, is the featured speaker at the 2006 Tee Off event of the Executive Women’s Golf Association’s Seattle Chapter. Scheduled for Saturday, March 25 at Rainier Golf & Country Club in Seattle, the day – which features a mini expo, brunch, program and optional golf activities – marks the official launch of the group’s 2006 season.
Members, guests and prospective members are invited to join the festivities, scheduled from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., with optional golf activities following.
The Tee Off program features exhibits and vendor displays, door prizes, a fund-raising raffle and silent auction, plus opportunities to sign up for weekly leagues, weekend outings and other events for golfers of all playing levels. In addition to the brunch and program, participants may register to play 9 holes of golf or take part in one of two golf clinics taught by local LPGA Teaching Professionals (one on the short game, the other on long driving).
Reservations for the March 25th Tee Off brunch and optional golf activities are due March 18. Fees are $35 for the brunch, $46 for golf (9 holes with cart) and $25 for either clinic. Space is limited for all events.
Registration forms are available online at www.ewgaseattle.org or may be requested by calling the chapter hotline at 206.781.5813. Companies interested in exhibiting may call the same number.
Featured speaker Steven Mary, whose background includes 12 years as a fitness professional, is known for his engaging presentations that teach, motivate and inspire. During his remarks, which are titled "The Mental Game of Golf – Empowering Action," he will share proven techniques for improving play on the golf course and "in the game of life." The nationally acclaimed trainer is currently writing his first book on the power of language, based in part on his belief that "when we change the message we change our behavior and when we change our behavior we change the outcome."
Along with the keynote speaker, the Tee Off program includes remarks by Chapter leaders and an overview of 2006 activities. During pre-brunch activities from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m., participants will be able to register for leagues and chapter events, meet exhibitors and sponsors, preview the latest in golf accessories, equipment and apparel and participate in fund-raising activities, with proceeds benefiting LPGA-USA Girls Golf, a development golf program for girls ages 7-17.
The Seattle Chapter of EWGA will also host the fourth annual "Rally for a Cure" golf tournament on June 10 to support the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, and is planning a series of social and golf events as part of a national observance of Women’s Golf Week from June 3-10.
Founded in 1991, the EWGA exists to provide opportunities for women to learn, play and enjoy the game of golf for business and for life. The not-for-profit association has more than 20,000 members in the United States and Canada. Three joining options are available starting at $90 annually.
Information on EWGA Seattle is available online at www.ewgaseattle.org or by calling the chapter hotline, 206.781.5813.
