(Allendale, Mich.)—The Meadows Golf Club at Grand Valley State University has been named the host venue for the 2007 NCAA Division II Men’s Golf Championship. The event will mark the sixth NCAA Division II national championship to be held at the Michael Hurdzan-designed course. The 2006 Division II Women’s Championship will be held this May at The Meadows, the fourth time that event has been held in Allendale.

"We’re dedicated to hosting a first-class championship, one that will complement the high caliber of play by some of the top collegiate golfers in the country."
The Meadows hosted the 2001 NCAA Div. II Men’s Championship which was won by West Florida. The 2007 event will be held May 23-26 and be conducted as a 72-hole medal play championship. The par-72 layout stretches out to 7,034 yards from the championship tees
Opened in 1994, The Meadows is located 15 miles west of Grand Rapids in Allendale and has long been noted for its reputation for staging well-run events. Open to the public, the course annually hosts the Ottawa County Amateur as well as the Michigan High School Boys and Girls State Golf Finals. Golf Digest magazine recognized The Meadows as one of only twenty Michigan courses earning a prestigious "four-and-a-half stars" (out of five) destination ranking in its bi-annual reader surveys. The Golf Academy is also well-regarded throughout the area and the state for its excellent practice facilities and its array of instructional programs.
