Awards Recognize Excellence As Golf Resort And Golf Shop
COEUR D’ALENE, ID, Feb. 27, 2006 â?¦ Proving it is better than ever as it approaches its 20th anniversary, The Coeur d’Alene Resort again has earned the Gold Medal Resort award from GOLF Magazine and is included on the list of Top 100 Golf Shops in America by Golf World Business magazine.
"For the past 20 years we have continually strived to maintain excellence in every facet of our service and amenities at The Resort," said Jerry Jaeger, president and co-owner of The Coeur d’Alene Resort. "We are obviously pleased with these honors, which are a tribute to the vision of our co-owner, Mr. Duane Hagadone, and the dedication of our entire staff at The Resort, The Spa and The Resort Course. We have earned these honors in the past, so to continue to be recognized indicates that we remain on the right track to giving our guests only the best."
The Resort is one of only 25 in the United States to earn the Gold Medal. The bi-annual list appears in the March 2006 issue of GOLF magazine, now available. The Coeur d’Alene Resort first earned the Gold Medal in 2000.
Since 1988 GOLF Magazine has ranked the finest retreats in the U.S., based on the golf, the service, the amenities and the overall luxury of the experience. It combines response from readers with those from its own expert panel.
Operating the golf shop at The Coeur d’Alene Resort is a true labor of love for head golf professional Bob Nuttelman, who relies on his wife, Mary, a former LPGA Tour player, to make all the right choices on women’s apparel. They obviously work together well, given the results of the annual poll appearing in the January issue of Golf World Business, which has included The Resort several times in past rankings.
"It’s particularly gratifying to be acknowledged as one of the ‘Top 100’ golf shops," said Bob Nuttelman. "It’s our goal to provide each of our guests with the highest qualify and latest design in golf equipment and apparel, while giving them excellent service and competitive prices not normally found at resorts."
The Resort Course, which is open from spring through fall, stocks a variety of lines for men and women, as well as its popular "Floating Green" logo items, from clothing to novelties. The shop, which overlooks Lake Coeur d’Alene, also dedicates nearly 40 percent of its floor space to women golfers.
"Both our men and women guests have said they really appreciate our shop," said Mary (DeLong) Nuttelman, who has served as the buyer for The Resort Course since it opened in1991. "We have everything men golfers might want and have been able to do more than just offer things in different colors for women. It’s good for our guests and it’s good for business."
The premier luxury destination in the Northwest, The Coeur d’Alene Resort is renowned for its accommodations and world-class golf. A member of the family of Preferred Hotels, The Resort is 31 miles east of Spokane, Wash., and 100 miles south of the Canadian border.
