Plantation, Fla. (February 22, 2006) —Following the 2006 PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, the G-Clip has emerged as a rising trend among golfers everywhere.
The G-Clip is a 4-in-1 belt clip and golf tool in a compact device that attaches to the golfer’s belt. No longer does the golfer have to fish through his/her pockets searching for a ball marker, ball mark repair tool or a golf tee. It will be right there outside the pocket and attached to the belt.
Once thought of as a gimmick-type of accessory, the G-Clip has caught the eye of most golfers in a very short time.
"I think the most outstanding thing we’ve seen," offered Keith Foley, President of Fine Tune Golf and the inventor of the G-Clip, "is that it’s been accepted and used by a lot of people who never thought they’d use such a product. So many belt clip products have been rubbish that people think they’d never use one. Now, there are golfers who wouldn’t think of playing without their G-Clip."
Stronger testimonies to the growing popularity of the G-Clip were the results of the product survey testing done by the PGA Tour Partners publication.
"They surveyed their members and the G-Clip received a 91 percent approval rating," exclaimed Foley. "At the time, it was the highest recommendation ever given an accessory."
Most of the belt clip products of the past were ostentatious to say the least. It was Foley’s aim to make the G-Clip as appealing as possible.
"My main design criterion was to make it stylish and functional," he said. "I looked at things that had been patented and it made the golfer look like a Mexican bandito with tees and tools strung everywhere. At just an ounce, the G-Clip is so light that you don’t know you’re wearing it. Sometimes, I’ll be at home after golf and won’t realize that I’m still wearing it."
Foley admits that there is an adjustment period when a golfer first starts using the G-Clip.
"This is a really useful tool," he explained, "but it will take two or three rounds to get used to it. Before using the G-Clip, it was second nature to reach into the pocket for a tee, ball marker or ball mark repair tool. It really simplifies the game."
The G-Clip adapts to just about any situation a golfer will face on the course. It will hold two tees of any length and width. This is a key element of the utility of the G-Clip given the preponderance of deep-faced drivers used today.
In addition to use by the individual golfer, the G-Clip can be emblazoned with the logo of a club or special event.
"That’s another facet of the versatility of the G-Clip," said Foley. "It’s a small package with a lot of features. A lot more design went into the G-Clip than was done for a lot of clubs out there."
The G-Clip comes in two different packages. The G-Clip in a clamshell with one ball marker retails for $13.50. The handsomely boxed G-Clip with two ball markers retails for $14.95. The G-Clip comes in graphite, cobalt blue and clear green. Custom logo options are available upon request.
