FedEx Serves As Sponsor Of The "FedEx Reliability Zone," As NBC Sports Kicks-Off Five Consecutive Weeks Of Golf Coverage With The Ford Championship at Doral
Chicago, Illinois, March 6, 2006â?¦ Sportvision, Inc., the leading innovator of sports and entertainment products for fans, media and marketing partners, today announced that the Company’s GOLFf/x was utilized during NBC’s telecast of the Ford Championship at Doral, kicking-off five consecutive weeks of TOUR coverage on NBC that will include a series of new graphic enhancements.
GOLFf/x, which is powered by the PGA TOUR’s ShotLink scoring system and generates a series of unique virtual graphic enhancements for use in tournament telecasts, will be sponsored by FedEx who has signed on for the five consecutive NBC televised PGA TOUR events. The sponsorship will be highlighted under the "Reliability Zone" thematic during each telecast.
The Reliability Zone incorporates unique video effects that allow broadcast analysts to illustrate compelling individual and head-to-head player performances by inserting graphics, and other relevant ShotLink data, into the broadcast. The graphic effects include illustrations of shot accuracy into the green; optimal landing zones on greens; virtual shot trails; virtual yardage markers, and player pointers that show a golfer’s exact distance to the pin.
The effects, which can be applied to the telecast live or in replay footage, also include a "yellow" virtual distance marker that is similar to Sportvision’s famous Yellow 1st & Ten Line that has become a staple of all NFL and college football telecasts.
