John Godshall Joins as CTO; Steve Tanis Becomes VP of Engineering
(CHANDLER, Ariz.) – ProLink Holdings Corp. (OTC BB: PLKH), the world’s largest provider of Global Positioning Satellite ("GPS") golf course management systems, announced today that it has added two industry pioneers to further extend the Company’s core technical competencies thus further enhancing its position in the market.
John Godshall has joined the Company as Chief Technology Officer, effective February 28, 2006. Mr. Godshall joins ProLink from The Development Works, a Dayton, Ohio-based company where he was President and Chief Engineer. At The Development Works, he was responsible for the design and development of software, systems, and embedded controllers for various industries including quality control, industrial controls, vehicle instrumentation, and golf course yardage systems. Prior to this position, he served as Director of Engineering for PinMark Inc., a Dallas-based company that designed and developed technology including GPS, wireless networking, and graphics processing for golf courses.
"Through his extensive industry experience, John has become an expert in GPS technologies used by golf courses," commented Lawrence Bain, President and CEO of ProLink Solutions. "We believe his decision to join ProLink is a validation of our solid operational infrastructure and future growth potential. We have invested significant time and resources in creating a state-of-the-art system for our golf course partners and bringing a proven industry expert like John to our team will enable us to leverage and extend our leadership position. We look forward to John assisting with our system, reducing the system’s cost, increasing reliability and designing the next generation product."
Steven N. Tanis will become the Company’s Vice President of Engineering, joining the Company after working at The Development Works as Senior Engineer with Mr. Godshall, where Mr. Tanis was responsible for all electronic designs. Specifically, Mr. Tanis designed and developed embedded controls for use in the industrial and GPS golf market, including the creation of a golf maintenance vehicle tracking system. Previously, he spent six years with PinMark and its subsidiaries, ProShot and Parview, as Senior Systems Engineer and Project Manager, where he was instrumental in designing, manufacturing and deploying GPS yardage systems in the golf industry. His expertise includes the integration of RF and satellite communications and the creation of rugged and waterproof hardware and RISC based graphics. Mr. Tanis also oversaw production and served as the worldwide field service manager.
"Steve contributed to the development of the first golf cart GPS system and brings expertise in the development, installation and maintenance of this technology," Mr. Bain continued, "He will spearhead initiatives to enhance our product capabilities and introduce new features and components to further streamline the operations of golf courses and drive additional revenue streams to our golf course partners and ProLink."
"As a company we are focused on improving the long standing reliability of our products and these two individuals will assure that we continue our leadership position in that area," commented Chuck Sherman, ProLink’s chief operating officer. "Our commitment to providing dependable state-of-the-art products to the golf industry is unwavering and we continue to invest substantially in that area."
About the ProLink System
ProLink’s industry-leading GPS system boasts a high-resolution, color display unit neatly affixed to each golf cart. The easy-to-read screen displays pinpoint-accurate distances to the hole, as well as vibrant and easy-to-understand graphics of fairways, greens, hazards and other on-course geographical features. Better navigating the course and taking guesswork out of the game aids golfers’ shot selections and, in turn, speeds pace of play.
Other features include ordering food and beverage at the touch of a button on the ninth and 18th tees, as well as personal scoring and tournament leaderboards.
With ProLink GPS systems, courses in ProLink’s portfolio streamlines operations by optimizing tee-sheet yield and enhancing golf cart wear-and-tear monitoring. Courses are better equipped to manage large tournaments and corporate outings, thus attracting additional events and incremental profits.
Through revenue generation, bottom-line savings and overall game-improvement and enjoyment features for golfers, ProLink GPS systems have become a necessary marketing and management tool for private, resort and daily-fee courses.
Course operators say the reliable and robust ProLink GPS system benefits food-and-beverage sales; green and cart fees; innovative and unobtrusive on-screen advertising for local businesses and course merchandise, tournaments and memberships; optimal tee-sheet yield; and marketing a competitive advantage to secure more golf rounds from new and repeat players.
Courses engaging with ProLink Solutions and its distributors substantially lower expenses by not having to hire additional on-course staff or develop costly, cumbersome yardage books. Courses also add up to four rounds per day from pace-of-play improvements, and can control messages from a central computer from which clubhouse staff can issue golfers "speed-up-play" and inclement-weather notices. ProLink GPS systems also allow for quicker reaction to on-course medical emergencies.
