TORONTO – Element 21 Golf Company (E21) recently provided information on independent robotic accuracy testing of its new Scandium "Shock" driver.
The testing that was conducted at an independent laboratory and demonstrated repeatedly that E21’s Scandium "Shock" Driver was approximately 3 times more accurate than titanium drivers. The average dispersion for the "Shock" Driver was less than 7 yards off center compared to 22 yards for the titanium drivers tested. The test data collected was for center hits only, and was conducted to verify the dynamic properties of E21’s Scandium alloy driver head. E21’s driver, which has a much larger ball response hitting area, produced the lowest recorded angle of deviation off-center of just 1.6 degrees compared to 4.2 degrees for titanium driver heads.
"This data arrives in time to accompany 2006 spring shipments, as inventory of drivers, hybrids, irons, wedges and putters are due to arrive around April 15, 2006.
"The extensive computer simulations and player testing we, and others have seen in recent weeks, have been validated," stated Dr. Nataliya Hearn, President and CEO of E21. "We feel this is a very significant game improving statistic that will benefit players of all handicaps. We are certain that several PGA professionals will appreciate the superior accuracy of our Scandium ‘Shock’ Driver," commented Dr. Hearn.
By utilizing the unique properties of Scandium, E21 has been able to optimize the center of gravity by placing weight where it is needed most and design the curvature of the face (bulge & roll) to minimize dispersion on both off center drives and drives hit on low or high on the face.
E21 will continue to conduct testing of its driver and our other new products during the coming weeks.
About Element 21 Golf Company:
Prior to the end of 2005 PGA Tour an unprecedented number of high-profile golf professionals have switched or began testing E21’s Scandium Eagle One shafts.
E21 holds the exclusive right to manufacture golf products using proprietary Scandium Metal Alloy. Through a sophisticated multi-technology production path E21 manufactures Scandium drivers, shafts and other clubs with marked improvements in distance, accuracy and feel over competing products. E21’s Scandium Alloy is 55% lighter and offers 25% strength to weight advantage over Titanium alloys, the current standard in the golf equipment industry. The advanced dynamics of Scandium and the material economics offer a performance-enhanced alternative to manufacturing driver clubs with Titanium, the largest segment of the annual 4 billion dollar golf equipment marketplace.
E21 recently announced its "Golf Shot Around the World Mission" in celebration the 35th anniversary of Alan B. Shepard Jr., historic Apollo 14 Mission. Just about every single record for distance in the golf industry will be shattered this fall when an astronaut will hit a golf ball into orbit around the earth — using an E21 golf club. It is only natural that this event takes place on the International Space Station, considering that Scandium is also used on the Space Station in high strength, fatigue resistant applications.
