Local qualifying for the 2006 U.S. Open Championship will be held at four Hawaii courses this coming May.

May 13th Maui Wailea Resort (Gold course)
May 15th Oahu Turtle Bay Resort (Palmer course)
May 19th Kauai Poipu Bay Resort
May 22nd Hawaii Waikoloa Resort (Beach course)
These are four of approximately 100 18-hole local qualifiers for the U.S. Open Championship that will be played from June 15-18th at Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, N.Y.
The United States Golf Association must receive entries for the 2006 U.S. Open Championship by April 26th. The cost is $125 to enter.
To obtain an entry application, call the USGA at (908) 234-2300 or enter online at the USGA web site at www.usga.org. Entrants must have a Handicap Index not exceeding 1.4. Entrants must select one of approximately 100 local qualifying sites and one of the 12 sectional qualifying sites.
REGISTRATION is NOW OPEN on-line at www.usga.org.
Eighteen-hole local qualifiers will be held nationwide from May 10-22nd, with the top finishers advancing to sectional qualifying at 12 sites on June 5-6th. Hawaii once again will host a sectional qualifier this year.

Approximately 90 total spots will be awarded to fill the championship field of 156 players. The championship format will be four rounds of stroke play.
The U.S. Open is one of 13 national championships conducted annually by the USGA.
