CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Harris Teeter Food Market, one of the largest grocery store chains in the Southeast, has retained its sponsorship of the Harris Teeter Senior Amateur Golf Tour for 2006. This marks Harris Teeter’s fifth year as title sponsor of the tour.
As part of the sponsorship agreement, Harris Teeter gift cards will be included in the prize structure throughout the year, and the tour will be promoted with posters and brochures throughout each market and in select Harris Teeter stores.
The Harris Teeter Senior Amateur Tour offers separate divisions in 11 markets across the Southeast. Each division hosts a schedule of local tournaments for amateur golfers age 50 and up. Senior golfers of all abilities may join the tour at any time during the season. At season’s end, the best golfers from each division receive invites to the Harris Teeter Senior Tour Championship, which will be held Nov. 7-8 in Pinehurst.

The Harris Teeter Senior Amateur Tour has divisions in the following Southeast markets: Asheville, Charleston, Charlotte, Jacksonville, Myrtle Beach-Wilmington, Northern Virginia, Pinehurst, Raleigh, Triad, Upstate South Carolina and Western Piedmont.
