Champion’s Tour standout Tom Jenkins and Balance-Certified Golf, Inc. have agreed to extend their endorsement contract for three more years. Jenkins originally signed up to endorse Balance-Certified Golf’s products back in April of 2002. He has used Balance-Certified’s technologies exclusively in his putters since that time, racking up $5,140,533.71 in winnings, 4 Champions Tour wins, 42 top10’s, and 77 top 25’s. He finished third at last week’s AT&T Classic, his third top 10 finish with only five events played.
"For the last three years, Tom has also served as a Technical Advisor to our company. His analysis and input have been critical to our continued development of cutting edge golf equipment," stated Balance-Certified Golf’s (BCG’s) President Jeff Lindner. Over the next three years, the company expects to depend more and more on Jenkins’ world-renowned status as an expert in the short game. In fact, before Jenkins joined the Champions Tour, he taught short game techniques at Dave Pelz Short Game Schools back in the early 1980’s. Jenkins added, "The Pro-Balance system is working like a charm. The putter’s feel is astonishing." Jenkins currently plays a T’ville putter designed by Big Oak Putters that has been dynamically tuned using BCG’s proprietary Pro-Balance weighting technology.
Scott Hoch and Tom Jenkins both serve as Technical Advisor to the company. Lindner added, "Scott and Tom have special skills in the ‘feel’ department. Their evaluation of BCG’s new prototype designs is critical to our ability and commitment to produce only the finest quality state-of-the-art products." This has been especially true recently since BCG has been working with United Sports Technologies (UST) to design, develop, and market new shaft technologies that rely on the science of Structural Dynamics. "Both Scott and Tom have the capability to feel with great resolution how a club vibrates in their hands after impact with the ball. They can immediately tell us whether our experimental designs are on the right track or not," Lindner said.
BCG’s former NASA engineering team first pioneered their Pro-Balance shaft tuning system in 1999 and has made it available to Tour players for several years. The Pro-Balance line introduces strategically located weights that can be used to adjust a golf club’s vibration and response characteristics and can be installed in any brand of golf equipment. "We are the first and only company to take golf club dynamics to a scientific level making feel a definable and tunable parameter," said Lindner. In fact, BCG’s technologies were significant enough to earn them top honors at the 2005 PGA Merchandising show. They were awarded the International Network of Golf’s (ING’s) Industry Honors Awards in the Product Ingenuity – Emerging Company category. Balance-Certified joined industry giants like Nike Golf and Taylor Made who won in other categories.
In independent testing by such notables as www.equip2golf.com and PGA Tour Partners, BCG’s systems have been shown to deliver increased ball speed in drivers, increased control of iron play and a tangible benefit in "feel" and distance control of putters. Dubbed the "Best Invention for Serious Golfers," at the 2004 PGA show by noted golf writer James Achenbach of Golfweek, the product has shown a steady rise in consumer acceptance. The company’s dealer network has increased to over 650 retail accounts worldwide. Dealer inquiries are welcome.
