BALTIMORE, MD. (March 16, 2006) – STX Putters, world-renowned for their patented Face Insert Technology, announced today that the Darrell Survey conducted a putter survey on the PGA Tour and STX Putters are among the top five putter companies on the PGA Tour.
The Darrell Survey is recognized as the Golf Industry’s leading independent and impartial equipment reporting company on the PGA Tour. The survey concluded that putters made by putter-only companies, are used by about 10% of Tour pros. STX was recognized as one of the top four putter companies on the PGA Tour this year.
In the past month, STX Putters have garnered three top-10 finishes, three weeks in a row. This considerable accomplishment was achieved by a notable PGA Tour player who relied heavily on STX’ signature Sync 3 to navigate some of the toughest courses on the PGA Tour, Riviera, Pebble Beach and La Costa. And, not only did it move him upward on the money list but he also reached the top-20 on the U.S. Ryder Cup point list.
STX Putters Director of Sales Greg Fudges stated, "STX Putters have been used for years on the PGA Tour and these Touring Professionals play our putters because of their consistency and performance factor. They put STX Putters into play because they can rely on the STX elastomeric face which helps them control the ball’s direction and speed."
The most recognized STX Putter on the PGA Tour is the Sync 3. Its unique bullet like center rear weighted design is complimented by its bowtie shaped face. This respected putter earned well over 2.5 million dollars in PGA Tour earnings. STX Putters credit this success to the DuPont elastomeric inserts. They cradle the ball during contact, resulting in more dwell time and less skidding.
"STX Putters are played by the professionals to validate our putter’s performance. Our weekly success can be contributed to our innovative products. We also have an outstanding PGA Tour Representative, Mike Neal. Mike’s ability to fit, understand, and work with these pros is an integral part of the STX picture," adds Fudge.
The highly esteemed Sync 3 is among the popular STX models available. Other well-played models on the PGA Tour are the STX Envision, Sync Tour Pro, Sync 9740, and the Sync 9750. STX Putters carry Face Insert Technology to a new level with its variety of inserts that elicit a remarkable feel under any condition for greater accuracy, consistency and confidence. That eliminates the fear of off center miss-hits because the ball consistently rolls true to the hole.
"This Darrell Survey information published by Sports Illustrated was important. STX Putters and those other putter companies listed in the Darrell Survey specialize in putters. We’re an intense group of companies that concentrates on helping golfers putt better. That is what our designers and engineers focus on. We applaud Sports Illustrated for acknowledging innovative companies," add Fudge.
