Scottsdale, AZ., (Mar. 22, 2006) – Rick Fehr, who competed for more than 15 years on the PGA Tour, has joined Gaylord Sports Management as a player manager. Fehr will be involved in recruiting and managing clients as well as the development of new events and client services.
"We welcome Rick to our team and expect great things from him," said Managing Partner, President and CEO Steve Loy. "His character and personality make him an excellent fit for us and his experience as a tour professional adds a new dimension to the Gaylord Sports Management team."
Fehr, a two-time All-American at Brigham Young University, was the low amateur at both the Masters and U.S. Open in 1984 before joining the Tour the following year. He had two wins, at the B.C. Open and the former Walt Disney World/Oldsmobile Classic. In addition to his playing experience, he served one term on the Tour Policy Board in the mid-’90s, was the Vice President of Business Development for FirstTour Junior Golf in Redmond, WA., and for two years was the Director of Golf at Trilogy Golf Club at Redmond Ridge in Washington state.
"I’m thrilled to be launching into my next and, I expect, final career," said Fehr. "Gaylord Sports Management is an industry leader and I see this as a great opportunity to use my experiences in professional golf to form a very successful partnership with our current and future clients."
Fehr joins the Gaylord Sports team following the departure of Cricket Musch, who has left after three years to go into the insurance business in New Mexico.
"Cricket has been a friend for more than 20 years and was a valuable member of our Gaylord Sports team for the last three," said Loy. "We will miss him as a partner but understand his decision and wish him continued success in his new career."
