Tickets On Sale June 5, 2006
TULSA, Okla. – The PGA Championship and its historic Wanamaker Trophy return to Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa for the 89th PGA Championship – August 6-12, 2007.
The PGA Championship office at Southern Hills has announced that tickets will go on sale to the general public beginning Monday, June 5, 2006.
Ryan Jordan, Tournament Director of the 89th PGA Championship is ready. "The Championship’s public on-sale date is a very big day for The PGA. Historically, 75 percent of all tickets are sold within the first few weeks." He adds, "We want to make sure that fair notice is given, and that everyone is aware that June 5 has been selected as the official on-sale date for PGA Tickets. Circle your calendars!"
Al Bush, General Chairman of the 89th PGA Championship, is encouraged. "There is a lot more talk and general excitement about the PGA Championship’s return to Tulsa this time aroundâ?¦ and it can be attributed to Tiger Woods. Bush adds, "I strongly encourage everyone to reserve their tickets as early as possible. This is an international world championship. Based on our previous major championships at Southern Hills, we anticipate an early sellout."
Phil Mickelson is the defending champion of the PGA Championship, the season’s final major. The Championship perennially features the strongest field in golf and the most international players of any U.S. major, with stars such as two-time Champion Vijay Singh, Ernie Els, Mike Weir and Sergio Garcia. The PGA Championship traditionally features the most Top-100 world-ranked players of any major championship.
