Women’s Golf Association’s Executive Director is Keynote Speaker
PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL, March 23, 2006 Pam Swensen, executive director of the Executive Women’s Golf Association (EWGA) is the keynote speaker at the EWGA Boston, MA Chapter’s 2006 kickoff event on April 6th at the Newton Marriott. Marking the start of the Boston chapter’s golf season, the event welcomes members and guests with a cocktail reception, exhibitor displays, buffet dinner and formal program. See www.ewgaboston.org
Since the EWGA started in 1991, more than 75,000 women have benefited from membership in the organization which is dedicated to providing opportunities to learn, play and enjoy the game of golf for business and for life. Swensen was a member of the EWGA Boston MA Chapter before moving to Florida in 2002 to become the EWGA’s vice president of sales & marketing. Since December 2005, she also serves as executive director for the association. Swensen has more than 18 years of experience in the golf industry in the areas of advertising, corporate communications, sales promotion, business development and event management. Prior to relocating to Florida, she was vice president of The Jane Blalock Company in Boston. She earned a master’s degree from Boston University.
EWGA chapters provide a wide range of golf, social and networking activities for both new and experienced golfers. A welcoming environment, golf education and player development, and organized play programs are all part of the many benefits of EWGA membership.
With over 600 members, the EWGA Boston, MA Chapter is the second largest in the association. They offer 9-hole leagues, scheduled in the early morning or late afternoon and played in 17 weekday golf leagues at 14 different courses in 2005.
Each season, the Boston chapter also plans golf events at courses throughout Massachusetts, Southern New Hampshire and the Maine seacoast, offering numerous opportunities for members to try out some great courses and meet other players. Formats range from scrambles for new golfers to handicapped tournaments for experienced players of all ability levels.
