Participants sharpen skills under trained eye of LPGA Professionals
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., March 27, 2006 – The Teaching and Club Professionals (T&CP) of the LPGA are offering amateurs the chance to improve their swing, short game, course management skills and mental game. A four-day LPGA Player Development Program (PDP) Amateur school will be led by current T&CP members who also have LPGA Tour experience. The PDP will be June 12-15, 2006 at Berkshire Valley Golf Course in Jefferson Township, N.J.
As a world-class, comprehensive golf school, the PDP offers amateurs who are at least 16 years old with an USGA-registered 20 handicap or less, individualized attention on and off the course, which will result in lower scores. Participants will attend sessions in a classroom setting and receive on-course and on-range skills assessment with personalized instruction based on their skills assessment. They will also play nine holes each day with instructors to apply instructional tips and fine-tune their game.
The four-day school is also open to LPGA and PGA members wishing to accompany at least three of their students. All instructors for the New Jersey Amateur School are LPGA Class A Members: Mardell Wilkins is also a PGA Class A Member and former LPGA Tour player; Dr. Debbie Crews is a research professor at Arizona State and consultant to the ASU women’s golf team; Patty Curtiss, is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, the USGA and William Glasser Institute. They will also be joined by former LPGA Tour players Lori Brock and Donna White.
Space is limited and registration ends May 12, 2006. For more information, visit LPGA.com and click on the "Teaching and Club Pros" link to check out the latest news on the Player Development Program.
