NEWPORT BEACH, CALIF. (March 30, 2006) – Q-Link, the stress-reducing and fashionable pendants that lead to better scores and more enjoyment when playing golf, has signed an agreement with Summit Sunglasses, Inc. of Calgary, Alberta, Canada to be its exclusive Canadian distributor within the golf market.
On the surface, a distributor agreement with a company that distributes sunglasses seems to lack synergy with the Q-Link product. But once you look beyond the surface, it makes a whole lot of sense.
Through its distribution of Sundog Eyewear, the Recommended Eyewear of the PGA in Europe, Summit reaches more than 800 Canadian golf shops. Its premier retail partners include Golf Town (Canada), Nevada Bob’s (Canada), Club Link (Canada) and Sport Chek (Canada). Summit also sells to leading pro shops in leading Canadian golf resorts like Banff Springs, Whistler Resort, Glen Abbey and Royal Montreal.
That depth of distribution, plus the interest in Q-Link products in Canada, has Summit executives looking forward to big results.
"Q-Link has been gaining Canadian interest from its infomercials on The Golf Channel, as well as the extensive print media and the excitement that surrounded the 2006 PGA Merchandise Show and Convention," says Greg Van Rassel, Sales & Marketing Manager for Summit Sunglasses, Inc. "Our relationships throughout the Canadian golf industry will allow us the opportunity to present Q-Link to the top accounts and get the product in the hands of the consumer quickly, while the marketing is at its peak.
"Presentations have already been made with great success to the top specialty retailers and pro shops who have unanimously embraced the opportunity to carry Q-Link this spring," adds Van Rassel. "Consumers will be able to ask their local pro shop and specialty retailer about Q-Link. We feel confident that our 12 man, golf specific rep force will have preceded them and will no doubt get first hand information on the product."
Q-Link executives are just as enthusiastic about having Summit Sunglasses, Inc. as a new business partner.
"Summit is a first-class company that knows the golf business inside and out," says Steve Schulze, President of Q-Link Golf, the exclusive distributor of the Q-Link pendants to the U.S. golf market. "There’s also the additional benefit of their extensive knowledge of the accessories business. They’re little products that yield big results, particularly in golf pro shops."
Q-Link’s infomercial on The Golf Channel is part of a huge advertising initiative for the Newport Beach, CA-based company. Q-Link is spending nearly half a million dollars a month on broadcast time for the infomercial, as well as extensive print advertising, to penetrate the message to golfers that wearing Q-Link’s stress-reducing and fashionable pendants will benefit their game.
That’s particularly true with PGA Tour rookie sensation Camilo Villegas, who successfully used his Q-Link this past weekend to withstand the stress of the demanding TPC at Sawgrass course to finish tied for third at The Players Championship. That was on top of Villegas’s tie for second at the recent Ford Championship at Doral, which was the first time he had worn the pendant during Tour competition.
With proven results like that, its no wonder Q-Link was named Best New Product at the 2005 PGA Fall Expo in Las Vegas.
All Q-Link pendants feature sleek contemporary designs and can be worn by both men and women as a signature piece while being dressed up or down. They look great and perform fantastically.
The Q-Link is a pendant that, when worn, strengthens resilience and resistance to the harmful effects of stress. Golfers who wear a Q-Link report that they can more easily eliminate outside distractions and recover from bad shots, have more energy, sleep more soundly, and have sharpened mental focus in their game. Q-Link pendants contain the latest advancements in biofield science and enhancements to SRT TM, the technology at the heart of the Q-Link.
The Q-Link has recently been upgraded with a more sophisticated manufacturing facility allowing the company to compact the essential material at the heart of the Q-Link, increasing the capacity of the Sympathetic Resonance Technology to make the pendant more powerful.
Last year, more than 200 golfers from the PGA, Champions and LPGA Tours wore Q-Links during tournaments to help them play their best under the stress of championship competition. Q-Link wearers on those tours won 18 tournaments in 2005, including Birdie Kim at the U.S. Women’s Open, Allen Doyle at the U.S. Senior Open and Jeong Jang at the Weetabix Women’s British Open.
