ORLANDO, FL – The world’s best players and some of the longest hitters in the world highlighted the ‘Laser Link Long Drive’ contest on Monday in Orlando, Fl.

This year’s star studded field included such notables as Tiger Woods, Ernie Els, Retief Goosen, Stuart Appleby and Sergio Garcia to name just a few.

Tiger Woods won the ‘Laser Link Long Drive’ contest with a drive of 340 yards, with weather and course conditions being nearly perfect. There were five players with drives over 320 yards out of the field of 20, including four of the top ten players in the world. Tiger earned $10,000 for each of his Isleworth Country Club teammates by capturing the long drive event.

"It was another great Tavistock Cup for the Laser Link Distance System," said Dan Steiner, Vice President, Laser Link Golf. "Having the best players in the world using our system only confirms what we already know – the Laser Link Distance System is simply the best way to measure distance to the flagstick."

Laser Link Golf has been a proud sponsor of the ‘Showdown in O Town’ since the first Tavistock Cup contest was held in 2003. All of the players participating in the competition were armed with Laser Link Quickshots. The Laser Link system is the official distance measurement system of the Tavistock Cup.

About Laser Link Golf

Laser Link Golf is the producer of the Laser Link Distance System, the revolutionary distance measurement system designed specifically for golf. The laser-based system utilizes two components – a handheld laser rangefinder and a flagstick-based reflector – to determine the exact distance to the flagstick. Laser Link Golf products include the popular QuickShotâ?¢ rangefinder, the SmartStickâ?¢ reflector system, and the Smartyâ?¢ flagstick reflector. The System is designed to speed up play and add enjoyment to the game. It is in use at more than 900 private clubs around the country, and several more daily fee courses. Laser Link Golf is based in Madison, WI, and is owned and operated by many of the same individuals that started SoftSpikes®. They are involved in Laser Link Golf for the same reason they got involved in SoftSpikes® – both are good for the game!
