Avon, Colorado – April 1, 2006 – Action Television recently launched the 2006 season of the popular independent golf television series Golf Life for a 6th season. The unique series rotates between three show formats including Golf Life Destinations, with tips and advice from great golf courses, Golf Life Gear, where regular golfers test golf products and Golf Life Academy, where average golfers are followed through an academy program. The 2006 series will include great new shows including a Golf Life Academy episode scheduled for April 15th from Marriott’s Faldo Golf Institute in Orlando, Florida.
The Golf Life series has aired for many years across the US on well known regional sports networks including FSN West, FSN Arizona, FSN New England, FSN Rocky Mountain, Comcast SportsNet Chicago, Comcast SportsNet West, Comcast Sports Southeast, and Sun Sports. This season Golf Life expands its reach to include a regular weekly schedule on Sports Net New York and FSN Ohio. These numbers are met through the multiple airings of each episode and strong weekend late afternoon/early evening airtimes following PGA coverage.
Action Television is also announcing that Golf Life will be distributed to Europe for the first time starting in March. The series will air in prime time on Cool TV, a Pan European network reaching over 120 million satellite subscribers across Western and Eastern Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. This distribution provides firms looking for exposure in the US and Europe a consistent television presence throughout the spring and summer months.
Golf Life is supported through sponsorship, spot advertising sales and in program features on courses, products and golf academies. The program is produced at network quality to earn the prime airtimes on top regional sports networks in major markets. Each episode mixes an entertaining reality feel using real golfers in segments where viewers can learn more about their own game, locations they might visit and products that can help them improve.
Executive Producer and series creator Michael Billingsley states, "Golf Life has been a journey to find topics real golfers find interesting and entertaining. We work to improve the content each year and believe that we often cover aspects of the golf lifestyle you can’t find anywhere else on television. While there is a network dedicated to golf, the average guy is often not the focus of most programming. The series was created to provide average golfers a program that touches on the golf lifestyle they lead or aspire to live."
