Premier Manufacturer of Quality Custom, Licensed Golf and Sport Towels Purchases Largest Supplier of Custom Jacquard Woven Towels
Monroe, North Carolina, April 3, 2006â?¦ Devant Sport Towels, a leading manufacturer of high quality custom and licensed sport towels, today announced the acquisition of Altadena, California-based Sir Christopher Hatton, Inc., the largest supplier of custom jacquard woven towels. As part of the announcement — which forms the largest overall manufacturer of golf, sports and beach towels — all products currently manufactured by Sir Christopher Hatton will immediately inherit the Sir Christopher Hatton by Devant brand name and be sold through the Devant sales force.
As part of the acquisition, Robert Hopper, current President & CEO of Sir Christopher Hatton, and Karen Hopper, the Company’s Vice President, will remain active with the Sir Christopher Hatton brand on behalf of Devant, and under the direction of Rick Sheppard, Devant’s President. Sir Christopher Hatton’s impeccable quality, strong design and outstanding customer service, its legacy, will remain unchanged. In addition, Sir Christopher Hatton’s manufacturing facility in Southern California will remain open during the transition, with operations then moving to Devant’s headquarters in Monroe, North Carolina. The Hoppers will continue to work out of Altadena, California, focusing their efforts on Sir Christopher Hatton by Devant.
The uniting of the Sir Christopher Hatton and Devant portfolios of products will enable the Company to improve efficiencies while continuing to provide personalized service to existing customers and making way for new customers to experience the heritage and quality of both brands. Moreover, thanks to the combined technologies of both companies, the Sir Christopher Hatton by Devant collection will enhance the overall weight of its entire jacquard woven products line, while reducing the overall selling price of jacquard woven towels.
