Pulsar Purchase, Which Includes A 12-Month Golf Digest Subscription, Is Driving Softspikes’ Most Aggressive Cleat-Changing Awareness Campaign Ever
Gaithersburg, Maryland, April 4, 2006 â?¦ PrideSports, maker of Softspikes®, the #1 selling golf cleat brand in the world, today announced that 1st quarter sales of Pulsar cleats are on record pace thanks to a joint promotion with Golf Digest, the world’s largest golf publication. The 2006 promotion enables consumers who purchase a pack of Pulsarâ?¢ cleats, the #1 cleat on TOUR, to receive 12-months of Golf Digest magazine, along with samples of Pride’s popular Professional Tee System® tees.
Highlighting the promotion, Softspikes has placed over 5500 Point of Purchase (POP) displays at U.S.-based retail establishments, including green grass and off-course shops, which carry Softspikes-brand cleats. Golfers purchasing Pulsar cleats at these retail outlets during 2006 receive a special code inside the pack of cleats that can be used to redeem their 12-month subscription to Golf Digest. The POP displays have been a driving force in educating consumers on the promotion and driving the sell through of Pulsar cleats.
PrideSports announced the Pulsar/Golf Digest promotion in January at the 2006 PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando. Response from the announcement was immediately strong and has resulted in a nearly 150% increase in 1st quarter sales, as compared to previous years.
