Carlsbad, CA . . . MRC Composite Products-USA announced today that Mitsubishi Rayon shafts have triumphed at back-to-back Masters, with the 2005 and 2006 Masters Champions playing Diamana® in their drivers. The 2006 Masters Tournament Champion used Mitsubishi Rayon Diamana® 73x in both of his drivers and won by 2 strokes with a 69 on Sunday. The victory earned him his second TOUR victory in a row with the Diamana shaft.
"We are committed to making the best performing shafts in the industry because we want to help competitors play their best. Considering that the tournament winners of 5 of the last 9 major championships used Mitsubishi Rayon driver shafts, it’s clear that we’ve separated ourselves from the competition," said Larry Bischmann, Director, North America for MRC Composite Products–USA. "Mitsubishi Rayon’s vertical integration, proprietary materials, and design expertise are what make us different from every other shaft manufacturer."
Now in its second year in the US, Mitsubishi Rayon offers three premium shafts: Diamana Blue Board, Diamana Red Board, and Bassara, which arrived at retail in March 2006. Diamana and Bassara designs are based on feedback from the best players in the game, utilizing the technical and engineering expertise of MRC’s industry-leading composites division. The Diamana series are available in multiple weights and a variety of flexes, each designed to meet the needs of even the most demanding player. Mitsubishi Rayon product is available at select retailers nationwide.
