Feel Golf Company announced today that orders for the ’06 season of the Full Releaseâ?¢ Taper Tipâ?¢ performance grips have exceeded all expectations.
Lee Miller, CEO said; "The new 2006 Designer Wrap (black & royal blue, a black & red and all Tan) which are a very soft and tacky performance grip, is sold out to at least late June and orders continue to abound. The worldwide momentum building this year, has forced us to double our production for 2006."
"Increasing repeat orders from customers worldwide over last year, and the increased word of mouth has really taken off. And now top Tour players world wide are beginning to take notice and we are very pleased with the continued and increasing acceptance of this patented grip" said Miller.
In an unexpected development, Feel’s European Tour rep sent an email to Miller just last week. Like a WW II telegram asking for more ammo, the email went something like this:
"Five (majors) golf companies want more grips, stop…players clamoring for our grips on all wedges and drivers…stop…can’t get enough…stop…send more grips…stop."
With the British Masters looming, the Feel Tour rep finds himself in the envious position of too many players testing and finding the same benefits that Feel has touted all along i.e., better control, better touch and feel around the green, a quicker and more consistent release through shots and the always elusive "better feel." One top player states "I cannot believe that just by changing to this grip, has increased my distance like it does". As a result no less than five of the major manufacturers with Tour Vans have sought an inventory of grips for their players.
"What is interesting" said Miller "is that since most players are not under a grip contract, so they have the option to try and play our grip. They are experiencing greater control, and more distance, the same as our amateur players. This is especially gratifying for our new line. You never know how professionals will react to new product, because they, like most of us, get into their "comfort zone," and resist change."
The Full Releaseâ?¢ just feels more natural than one might expect, and the results speak for themselves. Because of the Taper Tipâ?¢ technology of the grip being thinner at the top of the club, it is just natural to grip the club more with your fingers, resulting in more swing speed, less tension "under the gun" and a fuller release.
We are very excited about this breakthrough on the European PGA Tour, and we expect the same thing this year, when our PGA rep gets the grips on the US PGA Tour. It will be interesting to see how the trend comes back from Europe rather than the other way around."
