(Vista, CA) -April 12, 2006 — La Jolla Club Golf Company today announced that in independent testing its new 450cc Big Ti Junior Titanium Driver was overall superior to the leading competitor.
When it comes to supplying junior golfers with the best possible driver, La Jolla Club now has the proven results. Recent tests showed that the Big Ti Driver is the easiest club to hit, which makes it more fun for juniors to play golf. "At La Jolla Club, our goal is to design clubs that not only perform, but also make it fun and easy for the kids to play" said Les Miller, Vice President Sales, La Jolla Club Golf Company. "That’s what sets us apart from the competition."
The overall test results showed that the company’s Big Ti driver demonstrated a much higher and better ball flight than the leading competitor, making it much easier to hit in the air than the competition. In addition, the overall dispersion on off-center hits and the overall carry distance were far superior to the competition. Finally, in overall distance testing the Big Ti driver was also the overall winner.
As the leading designer of junior golf equipment, La Jolla Club knows that in designing a driver for junior golfers there are three critical areas where they need help. According to Miller, juniors need a club that promotes a high ball flight, they need a club that’s forgiving, and they need a club that can produce distance.
"Junior golfers have lower swing speeds so it was essential to design a driver that promotes a high piercing ball flight," added Miller. "This builds confidence which leads to improved playability. Because juniors tend to hit the ball all over the club face, we wanted to design a club that also gives them the ultimate in forgiveness, in both direction and distance, especially on off-center hits. And of course all golfers, especially juniors, want a driver that helps them hit the ball long."
"We knew our design was superior to any other junior driver on the market, so we pushed the envelope on the testing," continued Miller. "Normally an independent test on off-center hits is conducted by moving the heel and toe shots ½" off the center of the club face. We had the testing conducted with the off-center hits being 1" off-center. This extreme enabled us to prove that our club head design has created the most forgiving junior driver in golf."
La Jolla Club’s Big Ti Driver features a 100% titanium head that is within the .830 COR limit as established by the USGA. This club was developed specifically for juniors and features a new high quality Super Flex® graphite shaft designed for use with the larger titanium club head.
As with all La Jolla Club Super Flex junior clubs, this driver comes standard with a Winn grip. The Junior Titanium Driver is available in three sizes (blue, yellow and green) and is available in right- and left- handed models. With a suggested retail price of $79.95, this club provides the best value in junior golf.
