April 17, 2006

FST is proud to become a sponsor of the 2006 Scramble for Scholarships, to be held on April 25th at the Golf Club at Castle Hills in Lewisville, Texas.

The Scramble for Scholarships is a charity tournament with proceeds helping to provide college scholarships for area high school students. The selection criteria for the student beneficiaries are based on a combination of financial need, academic accomplishment, and church and/or community service. The DFW Management Society Foundation, a tax-exempt foundation created in 2005, will award the scholarships. The goal of the Scramble for Scholarships is to raise $20,000 with the help of players and tournament sponsors.

The format of the tournament is as follows: four-person scramble with handicaps applied to each team based on a player’s handicap or average score – everyone has a chance to win, regardless of golfing ability. Players can form their own teams or enter as individuals and be placed on a team by the tournament committee. Team prizes will be awarded for overall team scores. Individual prizes will also be awarded for longest drive, shortest drive, closest to the pin, straightest drive, and longest putt. There will be a putting contest before the shotgun start, and a Hole-in-One Contest on ALL four par-threes with fantastic Sports Fantasy Trip Prizes to anyone who aces one of the holes!!!

FST is excited to become involved with this fantastic cause in its quest to give high school students opportunities they might not otherwise have.

The Golf Club at Castle Hills is a World-Class Championship Course Designed by Jay Morrish, and features bent grass greens- the preferred putting surface by golfers. Castle Hills is the host Site of the 2002 PGA Tour Qualifying School and the 2000 and 2002 Men’s US Open Qualifier tournaments. This year, the course is also proud to offer new Club Car golf carts with color GPS on each cart.
