Chi Chi Rodriguez, one of the most popular names in sports, and Craig Stadler, one of golf’s most colorful players have both committed to play in the 2006 Regions Charity Classic presented by Bruno’s Supermarkets. This will be Chi Chi’s fourteenth appearance at the Regions Charity Classic and he will also host the Alabama Power Youth Clinic on Friday, May 5. Stadler will make his second appearance in Birmingham and his fifth appearance this year on the Champions Tour.
"Our tradition of attracting an outstanding player field will continue in 2006," said John Marovich, Tournament Director for the Regions Charity Classic. "Both are exceptional names on the Tour not only because of their professional career history but because of their commitment to this sport. We are thrilled to have them both return to Birmingham for our tournament."
The 2006 field for the Regions Charity Classic already includes commitments from Tom Kite, Ben Crenshaw, Raymond Floyd, Curtis Strange, Loren Roberts, Scott Simpson, Tom Purtzer, Dave Stockton, Lee Trevino, Dana Quigley, Jim Thorpe and defending champion DA Weibring.
