Fun-filled day of FREE golf activities at Beau Rivage Plantation will include on-site instruction from more than 30 Carolinas PGA professionals, clinics for all playing levels, equipment testing, golf contests, product giveaways and much more North Myrtle Beach, S.C. – Play Golf America, an initiative of the PGA of America and implemented by the Carolinas PGA Section, today announced that a Play Golf America Day will be held in Wilmington, NC on Saturday, May 20, at Beau Rivage Plantation, located at 649 Rivage Promenade in Wilmington, North Carolina.
The Play Golf America Day, which will run from 10 am – 4 pm and is free to the general public, will serve as a fun-filled day of golf activities designed to provide expert instruction to golfers, introduce new golfers to the game and provide equipment testing from the best brands in golf today.
Highlighting the day will be free instruction and golf clinics conducted by more than 30 Carolinas PGA teaching professionals from throughout the Carolinas, for beginners, intermediate, and advanced level players alike. These golf professionals will also provide 5-minute tune-ups, and conduct demonstrations on all facets of the game.
Several of the golf industry’s leading equipment manufacturers including Callaway Golf, Nike Golf, Ping, Ben Hogan, Cobra and MacGregor Golf are expected to be on-site to provide hands-on testing of the hottest products on the market today. Attendees will be able to test drivers on the range, wedges at the chipping area and putters on the practice green. Representatives from each participating manufacturer will also be on hand to provide club fitting and product insight.
Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to gather information on some of today’s most exciting golf participation programs that are part of the Play Golf America initiative, including Link Up 2 Golf, PGA Free Lesson Month (May), EWGA Chapters, Golf: For Business & Life, The Carolinas Golf Association among others.

"We found that through our successful 2005 events in the Carolinas, it was critical that we connect our local PGA Professionals who teach these programs, with their consumers," said Murphy. "We are happy to be able to continue to expand these efforts into other markets with the ultimate long-term goal of blanketing the entire Carolinas with Play Golf America programs."
