ATLANTA, April 25, 2006—LPGA Tour Rookie May Wood will be playing in her first tournament as an LPGA professional this week at the inaugural Ginn Clubs & Resorts Open in Reunion, Florida.
May Wood is an up and coming star who began her professional golf career on the Futures Tour in July 2004 after establishing herself as a serious competitor at the collegiate level as a member of the Vanderbilt College Team and being named as the 2004 SEC Player of the Year. May, at 6’2" tall, was one of the longest drivers on the Futures Tour with tee shots ranging to 300 yards and hopes to continue that impressive distance with the LPGA.
May has been using the Power Max Fitness Swing Machine X-factor Professionalâ?¢ as part of her overall golf fitness and strengthening program. She commented, "Since being introduced to the Power Max Fitness Swing Machine X-factor Professional, I’ve been using it three times a week and feel like I’ve gained considerable yardage. I’m more fit and more comfortable over the ball."
Wood continued, "I can’t wait to play this week and am looking forward to competing against the best players in the world. As an Orlando resident, I hope to make my hometown proud."
