The Professional CLUBMAKERS’ Society (PCS) is an international, independent, professional society of more than 1,100 clubmakers worldwide. It is governed by a 9 person Board of Directors elected by current PCS members from candidates nominated within the membership. PCS was founded in 1989 with a mission to "foster, promote and elevate the profession of custom fitting, assembly and repair of golf clubs throughout the world." The PCS offers three certification exams that combine a written and a hands-on skills test, which is the most rigorous, continually updated certification process in the clubmaking industry. A certified "Class A" clubmaker provides golfers professionally fit and built clubs matched precisely to their swing and playing goals. As independent Golf Equipment Professionals®, PCS members can recommend any combination of components that best fit an individual golfer’s swing. PCS members’ expertise provides customers with Tour Fitting for Any Golfer. PCS offers a full range of member benefits and educational services, which are described in more detail on its website, www.proclubmakers.org.
