Dave Bennett, member of the American Society of Golf Course Architects (ASGCA) since 1979, was named an ASGCA Fellow at ASGCA’s recent Annual Meeting in Pinehurst, N.C.
Bennett, a graduate of Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science degree, is a long-time designer based in Plano, Texas. Among the courses he has designed are: Prestonwood Country Club, Austin, Texas; Cimarron Country Club, Mission, Texas; Desert Hills Country Club, Green Valley, Ariz.; Hurlburt Field Golf Course, Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; and Santa Teresa Country Club, Santa Teresa, N.M.
To achieve Fellow status, one must be an ASGCA member in good standing for at least 10 years and have reached the age of 70. With the election of Bennett, the number of ASGCA Fellows stands at 23.

Founded in 1946 by 14 leading architects, including Donald Ross and Robert Trent Jones, Sr., the American Society of Golf Course Architects is a non-profit organization comprised of golf course designers located throughout the United States and Canada. Members are actively involved in the design of new courses, the renovation of existing layouts, and issues affecting the future of the game.
