Bionic Honors the Mark By Making Donation to The Miracle Golf Tour to Benefit Pediatric Cancer Research
Louisville, KY – David Ogron, known as the World’s Fastest Golfer, wore his Bionic Golf Gloves from Louisville-based Hillerich & Bradsby Co. as he hit a world record 1,064 balls in 30-minutes on CBS’ Late Show with David Letterman. Ogron, who holds multiple golf ball hitting world records, says the thousand-plus balls he hit from the roof of CBS Studios Ed Sullivan Theatre was made easier because of his Bionic gloves.
"While most golfers wear just one glove, I wear Bionic Golf Gloves on both hands," he said. "Bionic’s scientific design keeps my hands fresh and comfortable and keeps me from getting blisters and calluses while I hit thousands of balls. My hands would take a beating if it weren’t for the technology in the Bionic Golf Glove, a product that can help any golfer have comfortable hands."
Ogron challenged Letterman guest Michael Douglas to try the rapid-fire approach to hitting balls. The Hollywood star quickly learned that it was much harder than it appeared.
"Mr. Douglas wasn’t wearing Bionic Gloves," Ogron said. "It would have been easier for him if he was. I did give him a glove when he was finished. I hope he uses it."
Ogron has traveled the world the past several years hitting golf balls on his Miracle Golf Tour. He does it to raise awareness and money for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Bionic Gloves and its parent company Hillerich & Bradsby Co., makers of the world famous Louisville Slugger®, made a financial contribution to The Miracle Golf Tour for pediatric cancer research in honor of Ogron’s new record. In addition to Letterman’s show, he has hit balls before a sold out Green Bay Packers crowd at Lambeau Field, in numerous Major League Baseball stadiums, and has appeared on ABC, NBC, and CBS News, as well as ESPN, The Golf Channel, and FOX Sport’s Best Damn Sports Show Period. He will also be participating in the "Racing to Save Lives" auto racing program.
