Lessons + Hybrids May Just Equal Wins and Course Records

May 8, 2006

One of the hottest players in golf may just be the Nationwide Tour player who never had a golf lesson until a few weeks ago. Last week, the player won on the Nationwide Tour at the BMW Charity Pro Am at the Cliffs. He also set a course record the week before in Athens on a lengthened course on the Nationwide Tour. This week, he shot a course record 65 to Monday qualify for the Wachovia Championship on the PGA Tour, one of the top events on tour.

He was a self-taught player before he started working with a renowned swing coach the last couple of weeks. Another change was the addition of a new Nickent 3DX DC Ironwood to the champions bag.

"I’ve been a lot more consistent in hitting greens in regulation and in driving accuracy," said the BMW winner.

After Thursday’s round at Wachovia, the player sits four shots back of the leader after an opening round 72.
