CGA Championship Season Begins May 8th with State Four-Ball

Denver – The Colorado Golf Association will begin the amateur state championship season this Monday, May 8th with the CGA State Four-Ball Championship. The 36-hole event will be held Monday-Tuesday at King’s Deer Golf Club in Monument. Dean Clapp (Meadow Hills GC) and Jim Doidge (Pueblo CC), who dominated last year’s event with a 10-stroke victory, are returning to defend their title. The 2005 Senior Division champions, Jim Pierce and Robert Polk (The Pinery CC), are also returning to defend their title.

Immediately following the CGA State Four-Ball, The CGA Net Four-Ball Championship will be held May 10-11 at Deer Creek Golf Club at Meadow Ranch in Littleton.

Both team events will be 8:00 am shotgun starts on all days. Daily results will be posted at www.cogolf.org, and final results of each event will be released via email to the media.
