May 8, 2006, Winter Garden, FL . . . Orange County National Golf Club and Lodge was the host of this year’s Atlantic 10 Men’s Golf Conference Championship May 5 – 7, 2006. Charlotte won the 54-hole tournament by three shots over Xavier with a team total of 837 on the 6,837 yard Par 72 Panther Lake course.
"It was a great weekend for the Atlantic 10 Conference Championship; the playing conditions were ideal and the scores showed it with 18 players finishing at or under par," stated Bruce Gerlander, general manager. Orange County National. "We look forward to seeing some of the players back later this summer for the US Amateur qualifier at OCN."
The medalist honors were shared by two players from Xavier, John Streibich and Jason Kokrak, with a 10 under par total of 206. Thirteen teams competed in the conference championship.
