POWAY, Calif. – Aldila recently made a donation to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation with proceeds raised from the sales of their Pink NVTM and NVSTM graphite shafts. The pink shaft was originally made as a one of a kind for LPGA Tour player Paula Creamer, who is on Aldila’s Advisory Staff, and loves the color pink.
"After Paula experienced multiple wins using the Pink NVTM shaft, we were inundated with requests for the shaft so we decided to offer them on a limited basis," said Stewart Bahl, Aldila’s Marketing Manager.
What appears to be a crossover in the latest fashion trend of pink becoming the "new black" for men, demands for the Are-You-Man-Enough Pink finish on Aldila’s shafts have been surprisingly strong. The distinctive Pink finish covers the unique Micro Laminate Technologyâ?¢ of the NV and NVS that provides the golfer with enhanced power, consistent flex and precise feel.
"The growing number of requests for pink shafts led to our offering the shaft in every weight and flex combination of both the NV and NVS woods," Bahl said. "We donate a portion of the proceeds from the Pink shafts sold through distribution and those sold through our OEM partners," he said.
For more than 20 years, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation has been a global leader in the fight against breast cancer through its support of innovative research and community-based outreach programs. Working through a network of U.S. and international Affiliates and events like the Komen Race for the Cure®, the Komen Foundation is fighting to eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease by funding research grants and supporting education, screening and treatment projects in communities around the world.
Aldila is continuing the program and will be making another donation from the sales later this year.
