Program Makes It Easy for Adults and Kids to Play and Learn the Game of Golf Together
Orlando, Fla. – May 10, 2006 – Marriott Golf, the world’s largest resort golf management company, today introduced "Kids Golf-4-Free," a new program that allows adults and kids to play and learn the game of golf together. The program is available at 36 of Marriott Golf’s most prestigious resort destinations, encompassing 52 courses. Children up to 15 years old golf for free when accompanied by a full paying adult after 3:00 p.m. In addition, Marriott Golf is also offering free lessons anytime to kids up to 15 years old when accompanied by an adult who is taking a fully paid lesson from a Marriott Golf instructor.
"’Kids Golf-4-Free’ is designed to promote youth golf. We feel it is important that kids have the opportunity to play at premier golf facilities, and hone their skills under the direction of the world’s finest PGA Professionals," said Claye Atcheson, vice president of operations, Marriott Golf. "What’s equally exciting about this program is that it further emphasizes Marriott Golf’s commitment to growing the game and encourages families to golf together."
With golf resorts like Camelback Golf Club (Scottsdale, Ariz.), Grande Pines Golf Club (Orlando, Fla.), and Forest of Arden Country Club (Meriden, England) among the 52 golf courses participating in "Kids Golf-4-Free," not only are junior golfers being introduced to some of the finest golf courses in the world, but adults and kids can now play and learn together whether on vacation, or simply sharing quality family time.
"Kids Golf-4-Free" features two components. The Free Play program enables kids up to 15 years old to play for free when accompanied by a full paying adult. The program, which is based on availability, is valid for one free round per child with each full paying adult. The Free Instruction program enables kids up to 15 years old to receive a free golf lesson when accompanied by an adult who is paying for a lesson. Both golf lessons must be taken at the same time with the same instructor.
