Presenting FST’s most innovative shaft… now for Hybrids!

May 22, 2006

BOULDER, Colo. (May 19, 2006) – FST is pleased to announce that the revolutionary ProVision, a shaft designed specifically for the custom club builder, is ideally suited to hybrid technology.

FST’s exclusive Provision trimming system gives the club builder three trajectory options for each flex. This makes every hybrid and iron completely customizable, allowing the golfer to create an entirely personalized set of clubs. For example, some players may prefer a higher shot trajectory for their long irons and a mid trajectory for the rest of the set, while others want low ball flight trajectory for their long irons and high trajectory for their regular clubs. The ProVisions’ unique trajectory trimming makes any of these results achievable.

Hybrids clubs are designed to allow similar ball flight patterns as long irons or fairway woods, but with more ease and repeatability than is common with these clubs. In order for hybrids to achieve this goal, either the shaft must be trimmed to a flex lower than normal, or the shafts must have enhanced flexibility in the tip section. Each of these factors allows for more forward shaft bend at ball impact, thus launching the ball higher while maintaining flight distance.

Provision is ideal for hybrids because not only does it allow the club builder to easily trim for any flex, but it can also be trimmed to three different trajectory options (based on tip section stiffness). This gives the club builder the ability to use just one shaft to build flexible hybrids as well as regular irons.
