PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (May 23, 2006) – Legendary Oak Hill Country Club of Rochester, N.Y., the site of many of the most dramatic moments in golf history, has been named the site of the 2008 Senior PGA Championship and the 2013 PGA Championship.
In 2008, Oak Hill Country Club’s East Course will join PGA National Golf Club of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., Laurel Valley Golf Club of Ligonier, Pa., and Valhalla Golf Club of Louisville, Ky., as the only U.S. courses to host a Senior PGA Championship, PGA Championship and the Ryder Cup.
"For the past 60 years, Oak Hill Country Club and its membership have proudly maintained the tradition of being a home to major championships," said PGA of America President Roger Warren. "Many of the most memorable moments and golf’s finest champions have been showcased at Oak Hill. We are excited about Oak Hill being host to the greatest names in senior golf in May 2008, as the Senior PGA Championship makes its first appearance in the state of New York.
"And we anticipate that we also will find tremendous support from the community and membership when the 95th PGA Championship returns to Oak Hill in August of 2013."
Oak Hill Country Club hosted the 1980 and 2003 PGA Championships won respectively by Jack Nicklaus and Shaun Micheel. In 1995, Europe stunned the United States at Oak Hill by rallying to capture the Ryder Cup on the final day for a 14
