ORLANDO, Fla. (May 23, 2006) – Marriott Golf, the world’s largest resort golf management company, today announced that Jason Winter has been named Golf Course Superintendent at The Rock Golf Club, an 18-hole Nick Faldo designed course in Muskoka, Ontario, Canada. In this position, Winter will be responsible for overseeing course conditions, grounds maintenance and operations at The Rock.
Winter comes to Marriott from Point O Woods Country Club, an 18 hole private facility in Benton Harbor, Michigan, where he spent four years as the Assistant Superintendent. During his time at Point O Woods, he worked extensively on ensuring the course was in superior condition for the perennial Western Amateur Golf Tournament. In addition, Winter brings with him a strong background in construction and extensive renovation projects having worked at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, NY in preparation for the 85th PGA Championship.
Winter is an honors graduate of the Two-year Turfgrass Management program from Penn State University, and is also a member of various associations including the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America, and The Western Michigan Golf Course Superintendents Association.
