Former Managing Editor Returns to Lead Association’s Most Important Communications Vehicle
CHARLESTON, S.C. (May 23, 2006) – The National Golf Course Owners Association has named Ronnie Musselwhite editor-in-chief of Golf Business, the Association’s monthly publication serving the nation’s golf course owners and operators. Musselwhite is returning to the NGCOA and Golf Business, where he was managing editor from 1999 to 2003, after launching GolfStyles Atlanta and serving as the upscale lifestyle publication’s editor for the past two years.
"We’re thrilled to have Ronnie back to guide the editorial direction of the Association’s most important communications vehicle," said Joe Rice, the NGCOA’s director of Strategic Marketing and Communications and publisher of Golf Business. "We’re confident that under Ronnie’s direction the magazine will become an even more innovative and valuable resource for owners and operators, helping them gain new insights on the vital issues affecting their facilities and businesses." Musselwhite replaces Rodney Foushee, who served as editor since 2003.
Golf Business has a circulation of more than 18,000 golf course owners and operators, including the industry’s largest multi-course operations as well as owners of small independent courses.
Musselwhite has more than 10 years of experience as a journalist and editor in the golf industry. As managing editor, he was instrumental in making Golf Business a leading source of information on golf course operations, marketing and technology. During his tenure, owners and operators ranked Golf Business as the most credible source of industry information among golf publications as well as the golf business publication they read most regularly.
"The men and women who own and manage golf courses today are sophisticated business people who need timely and incisive business reporting to help them run their facilities as efficiently as possible," Musselwhite said. "We’ll do our best to deliver that kind of information consistently and in the most interesting ways we can."
Prior to editing Golf Business and GolfStyles Atlanta, Musselwhite was director of public relations for Kiawah Development Partners, developer of Kiawah Island, S.C. He serves on the board of advisors for the International Network of Golf and is a past vice president of the Carolinas Golf Reporters Assoc. A graduate of N.C. State University, Musselwhite is a resident of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.
