CHARLOTTE, N.C. (May 24, 2006) – Entries are now being accepted for the fifth annual Lance Two-Man Team Championship. The event takes place July 8-9 at Stonebridge Golf Club just outside Charlotte.
The tourney is one of the premier best-ball championships in the greater Charlotte region and is expected to draw a field of about 70 teams. Competition will be in two divisions – gross and net – with a total purse of $5,000 in gift certificates from Edwin Watts Golf. All golfers with verifiable handicaps of 0-16 are eligible to enter.
Format is 36 holes of best ball, with gift certificates awarded to the top 10 teams in the gross division and top 10 teams in the net division.
"Last year’s event drew a strong field with some of the best golfers in the area," said tournament director Dennis McCormac. "Lance has provided great support to the tournament over the years and I think people realize this is a quality event."
Entry fee is $165 per person or $330 per team and includes: cart and green fees, range balls, Lance snacks, food on Saturday, and prizes. Practice rounds are available that week for $25.
Applications are available at Stonebridge Golf Club and all Edwin Watts locations in Charlotte. Applications and entry fees may also be submitted online at www.amateurgolftour.net.
