ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. (May 24, 2006) – The World Golf Hall of Fame will have an exhibition on display at the 2006 Open Championship at the Royal Liverpool Golf Club in Hoylake, England. The Hall of Fame’s stand will be on display in the Exhibition Marquee the week of the tournament, Monday, July 17 through Sunday, July 23.

"We look forward to sharing the fascinating and historically significant stories of Hall of Fame members and their connections to Hoylake with The Open Championship spectators, who are among the most passionate golf fans in the world," said Jack Peter, Sr. Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Hall of Fame. "We are grateful to our supporting organization, The R&A, for the opportunity."

The exhibition will tell stories of Hall of Fame members with ties to the tournament at Hoylake, including J.H. Taylor, Walter Hagen, Bobby Jones, Peter Thomson and Roberto de Vicenzo, plus John Ball Jr. and Harold Hilton, who were natives of the area. The exhibition also will give spectators an opportunity to learn more about the Hall of Fame and its mission.

This exhibition will mark the first time the Hall of Fame has had a presence at The Open Championship. The Exhibition Marquee will be open to spectators Monday, July 17 through Saturday, July 22 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, July 23 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information about the 2006 Open Championship, visit www.opengolf.com.
