(May 25, 2006) – PGA Golf Management has appointed Garry Forrester as the third member of the PGA Golf Instruction team at St Andrews Links Golf Academy. Garry, who hails from Dunfermline, graduated from the PGA in 1997 and has amassed a great deal of golf instruction experience around the world. The new academy is expected to open next month and will combine the latest video analysis, ball-tracking and ultrasound scanning technology with world class coaching at the Home of Golf.
Garry becomes the latest member of the PGA Golf Management team of instructors at the academy led by director of coaching Steve North. Welcoming Garry’s appointment, he said, "The main aim of St Andrews Links Golf Academy is to deliver world class instruction and we have brought together a team of guys who will do just that. Garry is a fantastic addition to the team and his experience of working with golfers of all levels will be invaluable."
Garry spent, four years working as an instructor in Hong Kong before forming his own Academy where he helped develop an elite junior training squad which produced many talented juniors playing at an International level. He has featured in a well known Hong Kong golfing magazine, writing articles which demonstrated golf techniques and even featured in TV commercials.
Garry’s work in Hong Kong led to him taking up the position of Director of Instruction for John Jacobs’ Golf Schools, Asia, in the Philippines. This opportunity brought with it not only the chance to set up and establish a successful golf school, but to work with Korean PGA and LPGA Tour Players.
