(May 30, 2006) – Sometimes you have to wait a while for your first ace. Steve Jacobson of South Point Ohio can testify to this. Jacobson recently reported his very first hole-in-one to FlGolf, Inc. the exclusive distributor of Volvik golf balls.
Jacobson who claims to be "almost seventy" has been playing golf since his late teens. Since his retirement he has rededicated his efforts to the golf game. While playing with a familiar threesome from Pennsylvania Jacobson knocked his tee shot into the hole on the 110 yard 7th hole at Tantum Ridge Golf Links in Sarasota Florida. His March 3rd ace was a mystery as the bottom of the flag staff was hidden from the tee view. Upon reaching the green his fellow players could not find his ball. Finally one of his group thought to check the hole, and there lay the white Crystal golf ball.
Steve said, "It was my third time out with the group. The wind was in our face off the tee so I used a nine iron instead of a wedge. I knew it was a pretty good shot when I hit it. I just didn’t see it after it landed on the green." He went on to say, "I’ve been playing the Crystal since they came out. I found one and liked the feel and distance so bought more down in Florida. Now my home club, Riviera in Huntington WV, carries them."
